Log: Week 2

Mon, 11th Feb: went on top of the "Sky Tower", with 328m the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere


Tue, 12th Feb: went to Mission Bay Beach, one of Auckland's beaches, unfortunately at low tide; in the evening barbecue at One Tree Hill


Wed, 13th Feb: rain in the afternoon, did nothing special


Thu, 14th Feb: went to the cinema to see "The Hobbit" in original language


Fri, 15th Feb: left for an operated tour until Sunday, 17th: Because we had to wait for hours for the bus, that got stuck in a traffic jam, we did not arrive in Rotorua until the late evening. Fortunately a nightclub, where we got discount on drinks, was right next to the hostel.


Sat, 16th Feb: visit of a Maori-Village in the morning, which is right in the middle of a geothermal area with geysers and hot springs; in the afternoon we went to (and swam in one of) the lakes near Rotorua and went white water rafting


Sun, 17th Feb: left early for Taupo but the trip was interrupted for two hours due to a bursted tyre, therefore, we could not stay in Taupo for a long time; in the afternoon visit of the Waitomo Caves, famous for its glow worms; return to Auckland in the evening
